چکیده

All of these are of the form Au ˆ = f where  is self-adjoint and positive-definite (assuming zero Dirichlet boundary conditions and an appropriate inner product 〈u, v〉), as we’ve seen previously in class, so they should have unique solutions (excluding pathological c functions). However, the solutions may in general be quite different from those of −∇u = f . Can we relate them to G0, the Green’s function for empty space?

A Higher Order B-Splines 1-D Finite Element Analysis of Lossy Dispersive Inhomogeneous Planar Layers

In this paper we propose an accurate and fast numerical method to obtain scattering fields from lossy dispersive inhomogeneous planar layers for both TE and TM polarizations. A new method is introduced to analyze lossy Inhomogeneous Planar Layers. In this method by applying spline based Galerkin’s method of moment to scalar wave equation and imposing boundary conditions we obtain reflection and...

Boundary Element Methods for 3D Capacitance and Substrate Resistance Calculations in Inhomogeneous Media in a VLSI Layout Verification Package

In this paper we describe the application of the Boundary Element Method to the layout verification of VLSI Designs. We describe the methods for the calculation of interconnection capacitances and substrate resistances with the use of problem specific Green’s functions. The derivation of these functions for multilayer structures is presented. Emphasis is on computational efficiency and practica...

A Fast 2d Volume Integral- Equation Solver for Scattering from Inhomogeneous Objects in Layered Media

The stabilized biconjugate gradient fast Fourier transform (BCGS-FFT) method is applied to simulate electromagnetic and acoustic scattering from inhomogeneous objects embedded in a layered medium in two dimensions. Two-dimensional layered-media Green’s functions are computed adaptively by using Gaussian quadratures after singularity subtraction. The Green’s function is split into convolutional ...

Report 2 Migration Green’s Function by a Stationary Phase Approximation

The analytical Green’s functions for the equations of zero-offset and non-zero offset migration were previously derived for a homogeneous velocity model and the far-field approximation. These approximations restricted their practical application to field data. I now derive the analytical migration Green’s functions for an inhomogeneous medium using a stationary phase approximation. These Green’...
